No. 1 Croydon, also known as the NLA Tower and locally referred to as the 50p Building or the Weddingcake, is a prominent 24-storey structure standing 82 meters tall. Completed in 1970 and designed by Richard Seifert & Partners, it is located at 12–16 Addiscombe Road, adjacent to East Croydon station. Originally housing Noble Lowndes Annuities, the building reflects Croydon’s mid-20th century development and the broader trend of high-rise construction encouraged by the 2004 London Plan in Greater London.
